Choosing Whom You Obey
August 26, 2018They Know What Lights Up Your Eyes
October 27, 2018It seems like an overwhelming task to fight overweight and obesity for YOURSELF, much less for your children. We all want to be free and not be a slave to food or to anything on this earth. We do not want to pass our love for food down to our children along with the overweight and obesity that comes with it. We do not want to hurt Jesus by choosing to remain a slave to the sin of greed, for a slave has no permanent place in the family. The good news is that God has given us everything we need for life and godliness – for ourselves and our children. Once you transfer your love for food over to a wholehearted love for God, you can pass this freedom down to your children and your grandchildren. You will feel great and you will be able to translate this to your children, showing them by your own example and the NEW light in your eyes for God instead of the food.
Our children will pick up on these simple truths more quickly than we will. The Bible says, “At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, ‘I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure'” (Luke 10:21).
I know that it is certainly God’s good pleasure to draw all children unto Himself. When the heart of a child responds early in life to the Father, then he will not depart from it!
